This feels strange posting this, but I need some helpful advice...

My husband has asked me to go get screened for ADD. I've taken a few online quizzes (including the one here... scored an 81) that suggest I seek a diagnosis/treatment for ADD.

My problem is this... I don't know where to start. My son (15 yo) has ADD and I have no problem knowing where to go with his issues. How do you do this when you're an adult? Walk in to the doctor's office and say, "Hey doc, I think I have ADD. Can you help me?" Ask for a script? I don't want to be viewed as a possible drug seeker or someone who is self diagnosing.

I'm lost... I'm having issues at work and home that could be related to an ADD diagnosis. Unfinished projects, disorganization, missed deadlines, piles of unfinished housework... all the usual suspects. I just don't know where to start.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance...
