Hi everyone, I'm needing help and information on Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder for children. My friend's daughter has supposedly been diagnosed with this and taking medication. The child is only 6. Is this normal? Is this something that can actually be diagnosed? What medication can be given?
The child seems normal, happy, and everything is fine. In fact, my friend had no idea the child's other parent (OP) had the child diagnosed with this. The OP only disclosed it in courts after the OP got a lawyer for a court date regarding the child. My friend does have a lawyer. This information now being told to him through court papers is very alarming. The OP has been very defensive, over protective, and over controlling of the child's life since the OP found out my friend is married. The OP has refused to let my friend see his child, but welcomes phone calls when it's convenient for them, not for my friend. The OP has lied throughout the court papers, but this issue is something my friend needs guidance and knowledge about OCPD for children and what medication could be given to the child. Please help.
