I met a lovely lady online 2 months ago and she is moving in soon . Yay bring it on. But yes Skype, video chat, phone etc. I know people can be shy but if they won't skype, you have to wonder why. If you really get on even if shy you need to see each other. Lots of nice people online that want to give and recieve love. Don't let all the negativity put you off.
