I would say Wichita is about it when it comes to stuff to do, but Wichita has quite a bit if you know where to look.

You can go to the Loony Bin, we have live comedy all the time and if comedy melodrama is your thing, there's Mosley Street Melodrama. Like cabaret shows? Old Town Cabaret is hilarious (and if you're a guy, it's easy to get to the restroom because there will only be 3 guys in the crowd). Old Town Final Friday is awesome for seeing local artists and it's best if you dig your way to the back of the shops, that's where the really cool stuff is at. Then there's the Museum of World Treasures (they have a scavenger hunt for the kids) and Exploration Place is a great science museum we go to all the time. Live music can be found at the Orpheum with some cool local artists.

But yeah, if you leave Wichita then you better be into wind or cows, because that's about it for the rest of the state. (Chicago claims to be the windy city, but the actual windiest city in the United States is Dodge City where the average wind speed is 13.9 mph ... and if you visit there, don't go to Boothill, it's a tourist trap.)
