I've been all over the United States; from Connecticut to Florida to Mississippi to Texas to California and all places in between. Kansas is overall a quiet place where individually people are kind and friendly. But as they said in
Men in Black, "A person is smart. But people are dumb, panicky and you know it."
For some reason we have a large population of people that think it's their business to tell others how to live their lives and I personally can't stand it. I'm always at the polls when we have an election trying to vote in more socially liberal candidates, but we always end up with idiots. So many of our state policies are downright bigoted and ugly.
If I could pick any state to live in the United States, I would pick Northern California or the New England states, preferably Connecticut or Maine. It seems that in Northern California the people become a little more "real", they quite trying to be something they aren't and they calm down compared to the L.A., San Diego, San Francisco, Oakland mega-cities. In Connecticut and Maine, the people just seemed to "live and let live". They were always friendly, concerned with their neighbors and ... my favorite part ... had some AMAZING food.
