I don't remember feeling anything afterward when they added the cement/ glue either for the inner retainers because it is on the surface of the tooth blocking it. Does it still feel numb or that you just cannot feel the tooth behind all the cement/glue?? Not being able to feel the tooth is normal because the tooth is blocked from your tongue by the cement. If however, you tap the top edge of your tooth with, say, the tip of a utensil (toothbrush or spoon) and it is still numb, I would contact your dentist as this would not be normal.
