I think that if it will help you feel better and manage your life better to contact your T, then you are hurting yourself if you don't.
I was
so resistant to contacting my T between sessions, and one day, it just got to be too much. And for a while, I contacted her a lot between sessions. It helped me process what I was going through and helped me cope. Now I can handle most things that come my way without contacting her because having that contact with her previously allowed me to face the things I was running from knowing she was there for me. I don't need her as much, simply by allowing myself to need her previously.
