I live in Florida. Despite what the media may portray the state is not full of gun toting out to blow people away.

Many/most folks in the state relocated from somewhere else. That's both good and bad. It creates diversity, but there are also lots of folks who want things here to be the way it was "back home." I'm inclined to tell those folks if it was so bloody much better where you came from why don't you go back?!? The population swells dramatically in the cold months with the winter residents moving down to escape the cold and tourists doing the same.

There's a bit of everything in the state. Major metropolitan areas like Miami and Tampa. Several military bases. Beautiful beaches. Inland areas are equally pretty, but in a different way than the beaches. Theme parks out the ying-yang (bleh!).

I think it's telling that the number one industry is the tourist industry followed by agriculture. The state is full of that sort of contrast.

Lots of people complain about the heat and humidity. Gotta admit that it's both, but this ole lizard likes the heat.

Dennis, you asked if we would recommend people move to our state. I love living her, but the state is already over run so I don't encourage another to move here!
Thanks for this!
