I used to fold my two interests into one in this way: buying things and cooking things. I would go out and buy a very expensive set of German knives (because I needed them), a Cuisinart (because I needed it), a Kitchen Aid mixer (because I need it), 100 spices and herbs (because I needed them), constantly adding to my cooking toys (because I cannot cook without them). LOL I used to cook authentic Mexican, Italian, Indian, French, make and bake breads, pizza, pastries, and sometimes cookies, and so forth. I went crazy with this. And I left the mess for someone else to clean up. My ex-wife did this when we were together.
Nowadays, I cut out the kitchen part and go directly to online shopping and spending. I have purchased so much from Amazon that the street in front of Amazon headquarters should have my name on it. But I have not spent any money on cooking toys. I had to give up THAT expensive habit.
