I have often asked myself the same question. Even started a letter to my daughter but didn't feel it was coming out the way a wanted it to sound. I decided it was best to leave the past behind. I realized I would have to leave some things out to protect her, but they were important parts. She is now 38 and I believe she knows I have always meant well and always loved her. I figured that was enough.

Your situation maybe different. I would suggest you write the letters and see how you feel. You will know then if it will be for their good or not.
