As for your question, I get where your coming from. When I was stopping the hardest was seeing the cuts heal. I kept wanting to add more because it didn't feel right without something fresh. For me, I would seek out triggers, but it's very similar. Actualy, your way is more honest IMO. Still, recognizing that behavior is the key to overcoming it.
