If you are already in an episode, either up or down, music can intensify these emotions. But causing it? No.
My mood can be disrupted for days at a time over simple things (music included). If I'm unlucky, it may evolve into a moderate episode lasting a few weeks or months. I can't say for sure if I wasn't already teetering, but I react very strongly to the external world. Psychiatrist called it mood lability.
