I take pills because my doctor won't let me get Mirena and from what she said it could be painful to insert it especially if you haven't had a child yet. The pills work for me. I'm currently on a pill that has 26 active pills and 2 iron tablets so I don't get periods anymore, which definitely helps with PMDD.
