I take mirapex to prevent AP weight gain. That is an off label use of the drug, so there is not much research and most pdocs won't know about it. I started it when i was taking zyprexa, and i was also on seroquel and now saphris. I had no weight gain. I don't know if that was because the mirapex has been working, or if i wouldn't have gained weight anyway, and my pdoc isn't sure either. At any rate, it has no side effects, and i want to keep taking it as long as i'm on APs.
