If you're not happy where you are, and you've given it a school year, it may be wise to transfer. I felt the same way when I went away to college. It was so different from what I was used to that I struggled my freshman year. I transferred my sophomore year back to my home city, but I didn't live at home.
Go with your gut. It's usually right.
