Hello everyone,
While I do understand that closing threads may seem disruptive to continuing dialogue, arguments & conflict should really not be encouraged on a self-help support website like Psych Central.
If one wishes to have a debate or an argument about an issue, there are websites for that. Psych Central is for mutual support, and as it states in our Community Guidelines (which you must agree to upon registration here):
Quote:
Forums Mission Statement
The purpose of the Forums at Psych Central is simple -- it's a small community devoted to support for mental health and relationship issues. In that vein, you should be civil and treat others as you expect to be treated here.

All interpersonal conflicts should be dealt with one-on-one, in a private manner. So if you're having an issue with another member, taking it to private message (PM) is the more appropriate thing to do. Having multiple people become involved in an interpersonal dispute that was originally between two people, doesn't seem to really help anyone in the grand scheme of things.
Furthermore, discussing administrative issues (like this thread, discussing closing threads) is against our Community Guidelines. However, seeing as this seems to be a continuing trend in this forum, I feel it was best to answer the question (or intent) of this thread out in the open.
Our Community Guidelines are posted here:
