Ok... well? I would be one of those that would have to abstain. I didn't know about those studies, I guess because I don't have the problem. But whatever works in overcoming the problem.
IMHO, the truth still remains.

I've known and been close to a few alcoholics that were destroyed by booze. My favorite boss who was a friend, too, lost many clients and later the business she operated, lost her husband and kids and then died of scirosis (SP) of the liver, alone. I've got two nephews; one died at 18 driving drunk, the other got fired from his teaching position because of his drinking. I don't know that any of these people attended AA but maybe it would have helped. That's not the point, though. It was their drinking that was their distruction.
