I've been on Latuda for a little under a year. Currently, I am on 80 mgs and I have no side effects from it (I take other meds including seroquel.) It has helped with my psychotic symptoms and my thinking is clearer. I have been on a million meds--everything from abilify to haldol. Haldol worked well for my psychotic symptoms but caused fatigue, TD, brain fog...etc. I don't think Latuda is a wonder drug but, for me, it's been the cleanest AP I've taken and its as effective as other APs.
There is one caveat to it. I had severe side effects for the first 3 months I took latuda and moderate side effects until about month 5. At first, I could barely eat because I had no appetite and was nauseous all the time, problems sleeping, slightly increased anxiety and restless legs (minor.) My pdoc told me in advance that it would take a much longer time to get over the initial side effects of Latuda compared to other APs. 5 months is a long time to endure side effects but I was determined to do it because of my cognitive issues. This really is the very first AP that has not caused brain fog--like memory and thinking problems when taken at a high enough dose to be effective.
