I am 39 years old and have been numb emotionally for as much of that time as I can remember. Over the last 2 years or so I have had dribbles of emotion that I had never experienced before that kind of seeped through. Now, over the last 6 months, I am drowning in them! I was triggered the other day by an event and I felt as though I was going to explode!! How do I learn to handle all these new emotions, or at least dampen them?
I knew I was numb growing up but I had no idea I was THAT numb! If these feelings was what I was protecting myself from, I'm glad I did!! OMG!!
