I totally agree that this is NOT a Christian nation. The U.S. has no default religion. It's made up of individuals who, gratefully, are free to practise their own beliefs.

I like the Dalai Lama's stance - which is to never push anyone into becoming a Buddhist. He says that if you are Jewish, just be a good Jew. If you are Christian, just be a good Christian, etc. Seems to have worked out for the Buddhist faith for over 2500 years.
