,,,my sessions are usually weekly, and I use my journal to help remind me of my thoughts so forgetting is not a problem. Maybe detachment is a little bit. But what I speak about in session leads to novel stuff, so time to experience that fresh. No, I don't bring my journal to sessions with me. It's not like I want to read from it or anything. And I definitely don't want T to read from it. If it seems like I will have problems remembering something I want to say, I just make a few notes on a post it and review it before I go into the session. I don't want to seem "scripted." My notes are really just a prompt or memory jog, and I never take them out during session.

I do the same thing! When I leave therapy, I write in an online journal for a while (a private one that's open just to me). A week later I review what I've written during the week just before I leave for my next session. It gives me a chance to respond to all that stuff that I was originally too slow to respond to and leads to some good communication.
