The storm is over, and she's fine now. If I go to bed, she will go into her kennel in the bedroom when she's scared. Usually, she sleeps with me, but she chooses her kennel when she's afraid. She knows the difference between "Mama's bed" and "Jewel's bed". If I am going to be gone for the day, and the weather is too cold or too hot to take her with me in the car, I tell her "Time for a nap in Jewel's bed", and she trots into the bedroom and waits in her kennel for me to close the door. She likes it when I cover it with a blanket, like covering a birdcage.

I also play a CD for her when I'm gone, called "Music My Pet". It's classical music that's specially orchestrated to be calming to animals (and people)!
