Part of me knows it was the most likely outcome. My mate has been known for having a no bs policy (probably why I like him) but he is not averse to being physical if words are no longer adequate (not seen him actually lose his temper before though and nor has he gone to actually punch someone). In most situations (if physical conflict can ever be justified) he has had a point... but that hasn't stopped him being warned for it.

This time was a lot more serious and from the business point of view I guess it boils down to 'safety at work'... if people are physically intimidated by others and it is not addressed... then the company could be opening itself up to all kinds of problems as per the law. Bare in mind, this guy is built like a tank too... which doesn't really help. Short, but compact like a British bulldog.

With that being said, I personally think it's been a top down f up. The guy has had a general build up of responsibilities and has been shot down when he has addressed any concerns with the ability of the staff under him... as such over the last couple of months he has had that frayed look about him... like he's juggling too many balls and his tolerance levels have dropped dramatically.

Something was going to break... and it did.
