I called her back today (after a month of waiting) to make an appointment and she said "i dont think that would be a viable option" and she said something about "soliciting" i cant quite remember. something about a solicitation... thingy i dont know. All I said was I wanted to schedule an appointment and she basically said no and didnt really give a reason why.

I called back about 5 mins later and she didnt pick up...? I wanted to know why she wouldn't take me back even though last month she said "absolutely" three different times.

WHAT DO I DO? I CANT LET THIS GO. I AM GOING CRAZY. SOMEONE PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT ON THIS.

is there some sort of agreement that she made with the organization that she cant take me? what is it? my new therapist at the organization said i could have two therapists at once and even asked me if I was coming back and I said maybe.
Im a bit confused....here you say she didnt tell you why she cant see you but yet say she talked about soliciting/solicitation....

Im gonig to take a guess here that you didnt understand what she was telling you about why she couldnt see you....

here in NY (the one in the USA as opposed to other locations) a treatment provider cant get their clients from another agency that they previously worked at unless that client has been referred....

you ever hear the term ...ambulance chaser....thats when insurance people look for their clients by visiting accident scenes or emergency rooms.

your ex therapist can get into trouble with the states ethics board by taking her clients from her ex employment to her private practice...doing that is solicitation.

but if you go through the correct process of getting your present therapist to "refer" you to this ex therapist for either a consult appointment or because you are terminating with your present therapist, then the ex therapist isnt soliciting clients from her past employment. it wont be seen as the ex therapist committing an unethical infraction with her state board.

my suggestion talk with your present treatment provider, if the two of you are a good match then dont terminate with her, because it could result in you not having a treatment provider depending upon whether or not this ex therapist's private practice is set up the same way as when she worked with the other agency, whether this ex therapist can work with you or her schedule is full, whether there is a limit of how many clients she can have for her private practice...many variables go int a private practice, staffing, what types of clients they can /want to work with....
