Cool do you know what podcast it was....this is definitely something I experienced but in my case it actually helped me in my job...science in the big picture sense is about making weird connections no one else sees but then you have to test them which it doesn't help with as much if they have become more delusional it's hard to get rid of them even if not true....

The podcast was The Thinking Atheist, and they were talking about the myth that religiosity, superstition, or irrationality had anything to do with intelligence and they referenced this study on patternality. Didn't have a chance to look for the original study. But anyway it's consistent with things I've heard about how relatives of people with schizophrenia tend to get "benefits" from mildly schizophrenic-like symptoms (creativity for example).
