That's going to be the problem with any diagnosis you receive. It's why I don't consider Asperger's to be a disabling condition, because it's really more like a list of traits that could easily apply to other things as well.

From what I understand, ADHD has more biological components that can be readily controlled with some kind of chemical intervention like medications.

The components of Asperger's are largely neurological and psychological. A pill might help with anxiety but it's not going to make you less of a dog aficionado.
