The components of Asperger's are largely neurological and psychological. A pill might help with anxiety but it's not going to make you less of a dog aficionado.

Yes that makes sense. That's why AS is so confusing and of course difficult to diagnose. So many other problems have the same symptoms. I'm certain that I have ADHD because the medications work wonders for my concentration issues. I am also positive that I have AS because so many of its symptoms describe me. It's too bad that there is no easy treatment of AS and all we can do is work to deal with this issues. I absolutely agree with you that it doesn't have to be a disability.
