Meh, one of my friends used to call me Phil, as in Phil Collins

(you may be too young to know who he is, Google him if in doubt). I don't know why, but this didn't bother me; I even though it was (very) mildly amusing.
I think that the worst thing to overcome out going bald is accepting that it's happening to you. I tried hair loss remedies, which didn't work, and then just thought what the hell. I figured. "I'm losing my hair. I can either be a happy baldie or a sad baldie". So I chose happy and things got easier.
The other thing is, as you mention, the "what people will say". If you get someone make fun of you, just walk up to them and say, "yeah, so my hair is falling out. What's your point?".
One thing I would say about Finasteride and Dutasteride is that they have known side effects. There are reports that they cause erectile dysfunction which is not alleviated even after the man stops taking them. They are also associated with gynomastia (development of man boobs). Personally I'd rather have a head like a bowling ball than either of these problems

I'm not saying that any of this will happen to you, but these drugs have been linked with both.
