It is very odd that you would see a difference in one day. They are usually slow acting although maybe with wellbutrin that could be true.
The hyper wired feeling is definitely the wellbutrin it is the most activating, stimuatating anti depressant. I couldn't take it because of this, I thought I was on amphetamines. Everyone is different in how they react to these things and how effective they are.
Right now I would watch for allergy type symptoms. itchy, rash, hives, swelling, especially swelling in the face and throat area. Recently a girl here found she was allergic to wellbutrin with rash and itchy right away. It is rare but you should stop taking it right away.
If he is in hospital there could be alot going on so it is hard to say. What was he in for? I am guessing bi polar. How does he say he feels?

He is in for major depression (drank bleach), anxiety, and they are now starting to consider bipolar (although they don't want to "formally" diagnose him with it for some reason). He was on 200 mg of zoloft but they cut the dose to 100 mg when they started the depakote and wellbutrin the night before last. I'm telling you, it may not have had time to get in his system but he was a different kid! very scary to me!
