Ok, tomorrow the subject title will look bad to me but tonight I can't make up my mind whether to be mad or cry from relief!!
I had Amber out for her last long walk of the night. The thin 20 ft lead got wrapped around the axel of my chair so I turned her loose and made her sit in front of me. She started wandering around so I let her, hoping she'd poo right there and we could come home. Couldn't go for much of a walk with the lead wrapped around the axel. But she got smart on me, realized she wasn't on the leash and ran at full speed out the front gate of the park.
She made a few good runs around me then disappeared around the outside corner. Before I knew it she had come back in the back gate and right back out the front gate and across the street!!
Yep! She almost got hit by two cars going at least 55 miles an hour and the third was a charm. It got her dead to rights! She flew up in the air, hit the ground and spun. Did she ever come running to me then!

She was yiping up a storm but she was alive. After I checked her out and a neighbor checked her out, I took her by her collar and led her slowly back home. She didn't use her front left leg. I've checked her out again and she doesn't even wince when I touch her. Tried to get her to get a drink of water and she did put some weight on that leg. Don't think I'm not watching her eyes, though! How can a dog get hit so hard, land so hard and not have anything wrong with her!
I surely thought I had just watched her get killed. I was surprised when she got up and ran for me.
********
Well, I just tried to get her up on her couch because she couldn't do it on her own. Her elbow seems to be swollen and she yiped when I touched it.

She has a tire mark right below it.
More later... I guess.
