When I'm that scared I just get fatalistic and let logic take over. I went repelling off cliffs and got stuck on a thin ledge. I could not go back up and I did not see how I could continue since it had been too scary getting there in the first place. I did an "assessment" that I did not want to remain there forever and that the "ledge" was not big enough for a helicopter to land on and save me so I just "did it" like the Nike commercials. It turned out great/I actually enjoyed the 2nd half of the repel. I am betting you will really appreciate the eye feeling better the next day (don't stop using the antibiotic though until your doctor says or it could come back and be worse such that the antibiotic will not help).
