One of the best things for anxiety is exercise (if that is an option at the time it happens)... Running. If you can't do that - maybe you could "hurry" to a bathroom and do 50 quick jumping jacks in the bathroom.
If that does not work or is too awkward - then try ice on your forehead (or bag of peas). Last thing that works for me is to look at something or picture something in your mind and describe in words every single aspect of it.
IE A tree. Color, number of branches. Leaves shapes and colors. More in one area than another. How do the leaves feel, the bark. Any nests?
