Today I found out that my psychiatrist who was going to retire at the end of the year has changed his mind. He's retiring in June because of his wifes health.. I thought I had months to prepare for this and now I don't. He has recommended 2 psychiatrist that he says work along the same lines he does. I don't know if I can trust someone else the way I trusted him. I could tell him anything no matter how crazy it was and he was never judgmental. He always was optimistic that we could work out any problem I had. I got lucky when I found him now I have to start all over with someone new and it makes me really nervous. I like my daughters psychiatrist but he says he can't treat both of us. He recommended a few docs to me. I just don't know what questions to ask when I call their office the first time. MY pdoc now is always available. Whenever I have an emergency he fits me into his schedule and whenever he changes my meds he calls me at home to check up on me everyday for a few weeks until he's sure the new med is working the way it should. Where am I ever going to find someone like this ?
