my brother in Boston called... one of the last things he told me was how he had to put one of his dogs down.. he'd had a stroke and was walking on the top of his feet and all... you know...

my brother was crying.. quietly... I couldn't hardly handle it and don't think I did very well... I told him how sorry I am... he went on to talk about his older doggie really our favorite a golden who is 15! and how the younger one he had to tell the vet to put down would always be the barker to tell someone was coming but the golden doesn't hear any more... neither does my lab... only 12 1/2... he said the vet said that our breeds will just curl up at our feet under the table or something and go to sleep that they won't cry or nothing in pain usually...

yeah... I often fear mine is gone... and stand and stare at his chest... because he doesn't hear... he doesn't react...

I am sending a card... gee I still remember when he had to put Bear down... a big burly dog he had that had a face of a brown bear... and that was eons ago we have sooooo many pets in heaven..

but I feel like I just glossed over his grief. I didn't mean to.
