I agree with kaliope. I found DBT to be a life saver. Just reading a book is not the same as doing it in a group with a therapist. It's good you are trying, though.

Has your bf read up on BPD? That would make him understand it and you more. One book my husband read (that was recommended to him) is "Stop Walking on Eggshells."
