Hey there. I agree that some antihistamines work better than the others. I have reaaally bad allergies and recurrent hayfever, chronic sinusitis, etc. Here's what I found works best for me and may be a good starting point for you.
* I use dye free Benedryl for welts and Zyrtec for daily use. Claritan doesn't seem to have much affect on me. I can't take Singulair but it's supposedly really good too.
* Flonase is a good nasal steroid but Nasonex is a little stronger (just line your nasal passages with vaseline and you should be okay).
* Honey works well but it is hard to find. You need to buy locally grown honey so that your body can be introduced to the local allergens and build a defense against them.
* I've noticed that sleeping with a fan on helps me (people say it causes the dust to move around but I actually think it helps because it keeps the dust from settling). It's now the only way I can be in my room.
There are also some tea's and things at your local health food store/organic store that should help you with a little relief as well. Good luck!
