It's scary to think that he was thinking that much about others in his final moments. Having been at that door myself, once, I know that it's the extreme, ultimate act of selfishness.
Although I was there once, I don't understand it anymore. For me, part of it was giving away all my power and control to one person... then my son walked in on me. Poor baby! He couldn't have been more than 6 yrs old! I don't think he had a clue what was going on, though. I hadn't managed to muster up the defining moment.
