I would plan on being there as long as you feel it's worth your time and money in improving your quality of life. Some people take six or 12 or 20 weeks working on fixed issues, some take six or 12 or 20 years working on self-awareness and make therapy a part of their long-term support structure. Many people are somewhere in between, doing from a year to a few years and moving on. Either way, you're completely in control.
