Yeah that can be an awkward situation to be in. You want to be considerate of the other person's feelings, but you don't want them to keep repeating the same mistake. Its like when my t kept calling it a colonoscophy instead of colonoscopy. I told him it made him sound like he had a love of colons which of course i thought was hilarious (i admit im juvenile) and made me wished i'd coined the term!

Eta: but maybe youre being more honest about your feelings than i am? Idk. I feel embarrassed and put on the spot when someone says something untoward. If im with a group, now people will probably look at me to say something, because thats what i would have done in the past. I think now i would pretend i was daydreaming and didnt hear it. T says he likes when i correct him, but the more he says that, the less i do it.
