I know it needs to be taken with food, but I literally fall asleep for 2 hours if I eat right after taking it, or even an hour after. I get up between 5-6am, and leave by 7:20am for an hour commute to school three days a week. And the other days I feel like I need to help get the boys ready for school so my husband isn't doing it every day by himself. I get mad when I fall asleep, and I've ruined family plans or going to birthday parties because I've been too tired. That's why I was maybe thinking decreasing down to 40mg in the morning might make me be able to take it with food?
I'm still hesitant about decreasing, and I'm not doing anything until I talk to my pdoc about it. I feel like I'm still adjusting from decreasing the Lamictal, and not really in a good place to think about decreasing meds more. I personally think it would be better to be a little dependent on a couple meds than have the possibility of having an episode in public. I don't tell too many people about my bp, mainly because I don't want that to be all people see me as, and some people just don't understand.
