I had a horrible time on Wellbutrin. I started out very slowly, and didn't it make it to the therapeutic dose. I suffer from anxiety to begi with, and I don't believe this med should be given to someone with that disorder. It made it so, so much worse. I was scared all the time.

As well, my heart rate went skyrocketing. I was well into tachycardia. I remember one time just dust-busting the kitchen floor, and then I had to sit perfectly still on the couch for about 40 minutes while my heart slowed down and my I got my breath back. I thought I was going to have a heart attack right then and there.

Anyways, the doctor took me off it immediately after measuring my pulse in her office, and put me on a big dose of Ativan to help bring the rate down quicker (this was before I was on an anti-anxiety med as part of my daily regimen).

So, yes......Wellbutrin made me very anxious to start with....and then it just got worse. But some people have excellent results with it. Everyone is different. Good luck with whatever you decide.

God bless,
Sandy
