My allergist and I are trying a month of milk free foods to see if I have an allergy to milk or milk protein that isn't showing up through skin testing. (He said that 80% of people with celiac disease test negative for it, stop eating gluten and their symptoms resolve even though the test says negative; it's an imperfect system so we're testing milk allergy through elimination since chocolate binges tend to flare my eczema.) Problem is -
everything has milk products in it - cheese, gum, coffee creamer, ramen noodles, hotdogs, cake mix, etc.
So...i'm not looking for a large "complete diet change" thing, just a list of some common non-milk foods that I can eat/survive on for the next 30 days. I'm already substituting almond milk for my coffee and cereal (which isn't really unusual for me). Anyone know any good milk free meals?
