Yes, there are certain beeps from machines that are so irritating. My stove's timer has a loud ear piercing beep. I wish they would have an option on appliances, like they do with cell phones, where you could select a special sound. Geesh, seems just about every appliance and other gizmo beeps today. I survived just fine for a long time with appliances that didn't beep. I do appreciate my car dinging if I leave my keys in the ignition. It's a pleasant sound though and not irritating.
