I had PCOS from Depakote and like StartingFreshNow, one of the cysts burst and it was extremely painful to the point that I doubled over in pain from it. The ovary was fine. There was hemorrhaging showing up on the sonogram that was all we could tell that was going on and the other cysts. I was not made aware that it would endanger my fertility at all. Just a very unpleasant side effect.

I took a break from Depakote for a few years and have been back on again on it for a couple of more years (1000mg a day) and have not had that problem again. Maybe because I am older. Who knows but I am not afraid of it.
