Well, I've posted here in the past about my home improvement projects....Why I took this one on at this busy time I'm not sure, but I ripped up all my old carpet in the living room and hallway, thinking it would be plywood underneath...NOT! It is old asbestos tile with curled edges. I can't afford to have this removed professionally and the stuff is stuck down like steel. So I searched on the Internet and discovered a new "underlayment" product made of gypsum fiber in 3' X 5' sheets that I could handle myself and have laid it down, cutting it and fitting it in place. This stuff must be screwed down with large flathead screws, and I've done that, but the many of the screws wouldn't go down to counter sunk level and are above level surface. I've removed many of thos and used smaller, shorter screws, hoping they'll hold. Now I'm having to patch the seams with floor leveler material I must mix and spread with a trowel....It's taking too long!
I'm rather OCD about living in clutter and this mess is getting to me. I went out and bought a laptop computer impulsively yesterday! Plus! I have a research paper due for grad class and haven't focused on it because of this mess in my house.
After each home improvement project, I tell myself, "this is the last one!," but I seem to be compulsive about getting myself into these huge jobs!
I'll post "before and after" pics when, and IF, it ever gets done!
Oh, and I'm typing this on my new laptop!
