Ever get the feeling no one understands how you feel?
I recently started to see a new pdoc after 7 years of frustration of my medical care. I always was told "I don't know what else to do for you" or "maybe you should go on long term disability." My absolute favorite was "are you grateful for what you have" Of course I am grateful, I wake up everyday saying to myself there are people out there that have it worse than me. Not only with pdocs I get this at work "you don't act like you have Bipolar or OCD" Well of course I'm not going to let you see the real me, I would lose my job. I just go around with a fake smile on my face. Anyways, you should switch doctors like me. I finally had enough and found a pdoc that knows what is going on in the medical world. Before I switched doctors I went thru 4 months of mania and several med. changes. My mania is mostly irritability, not impulsive gambling, etc. This new pdoc said to me on my first appt., this is what your mania is. He understands that every patient is different. I hope you make the decision to find a new pdoc., you need a pdoc. who is someone who knows your needs and is supportive.
