I often times will sit and stew
And think of of people just like you,
I see your smiles and upbeat stride
then dwell upon what I’ve inside,
the waters seem so cold and deep
Without them I just know I’d sink,
To dream of times I’d be like them,
To float and glide, not sink, but swim,
I find I don’t associate,
With those who smile and know their fate,
Tomorrow I don’t know what lies,
But still I find a mask to hide,
I pretend that I’m just like them,
But know its just a means to end.

I wish that I could just be you.
