My weekend was great fun with great people and some really interesting conversations. I was able get some really good training experiences in with the horse who will hopefully be my next riding horse. I came off the horse twice in the same day though, and that was pretty mortifying as well as painful. That hasn't happened in the last five years or so. The first time was no big thing -- a creek crossing gone bad because of slipping in deep mud, and I was able to jump off and land on my feet -- but then slipped in the mud myself and ended up on my butt. The second time involved the horse just getting furious with me, rearing and bucking until I came off. I landed on a steep, rocky area and it was NO FUN.
