I really liked A Game of Thrones. I've got A Clash of Kings as well but since it's such a long book I thought I'd read a few others before starting that one. You're right when you say that George R.R. Martin likes details. I've noticed he likes to describe what people are wearing a lot of the time, which doesn't really interest me. I do, however, like the story and I like the TV-series as well. We'll see if I'll read all the books in the series or not. I'll at least give it a go.
Do you watch the series? Game of Thrones I mean.

There can never be too many questions about books. (Just like how one can never have too many books.)
I read a fair amount of e-books. Maybe two thirds of what I read is on paper, the rest on my e-book reader (which I've only had for about five months, mind you.) Have you read any e-books? I was surprised at how much I liked it, actually. and how easy it is to read on the screen of a dedicated e-book reader.
I've seen the movie
Stardust and I liked it a lot. I prefer the book, but that's almost always true for me, when it comes to books made into films. I have to admit that I don't like the TV series
Game of Thrones at all - most of my friends seem to like it a lot, so it's clearly not a bad series, but I can't get past all the sex and the violence, and I stopped watching after two episodes. H plans to watch the rest of season one, at least.
