I have this problem too, but on forums and Youtube.

Youtube is the one social media platform (if you wanna call it that) i am comfortable with using, but some of the people in the comments section of the site can be downright aggressive sometimes, especially when they have a reply to give you. It surprises me how many people can comment the mean things they do, and be unafraid and unashamed to use their real name.

There are two instances in particular where I've made a completely innocent comment on a video, and got a brutal reply. After reading their response, how angry their voice sounds, how offensive their language is, the feelings strike through me like lightning.. causing quite a rift between me and the site.

Luckily, whenever misfortune hits, time will do its healing. I bounce-back every time, albeit a little more cautious.
